I saw Krrish 3 today. For people living in a country other than India, that's a Bollywood superhero film that released today. Let me be clear from the start, you should not expect a Man of Steel here. (my favorite movie so far). But I must confess that the special effects this movie had was wonderful and awesome to watch. I felt really proud of the advancements made that were clearly seen on the big screen. And I will clear another point. I could have been really critical of the effects as well but I understand the difference between this movie and the last special effect laden movie I saw from Bollywood. But this was indeed beautiful.
The story continues from where it left off in Krrish (the first part) as Krrish continues to wage battle against evil and save the people. This time, they introduced a super villain as well by the name of Kaal, played very well by Vivek Oberoi. He is a genius and creates an army of mutants (maanvar) and a virus to plague all of the world. Krrish has to fight all of them throughout the movie and save the world (which he does). I will not reveal the whole story here but I will give my feedback.
I enjoyed it but i must say the supervillain costume was not great to watch. He looked like a American football player with a really bad costume. I did not like some of the songs too. The best one was left for the credits. On the plus side, Hrithik turns out to be an able superhero and portrays the character beautifully. Hrithik as Krrish's father too was great and Kangna Ranaut was a cool villain as well (although a bit of a copy of Mystique from X-Men. Most of the mutants were in fact, but that's what mutants are isn't it). Priyanka Chopra played her part well too. I was surprised to see Rekha suddenly absent from this movie. But they did show her as dead in one of the wall pictures with a shradhanjali.
Again, I would say I am most impressed by the special effect especially the end fight between Kaal and Krrish. And people a bit of a spoiler. Krrish finally Flies!!!
I hope you too find it interesting. If not, atleast you can appreciate the effort put into this movie.
