Another good film from director Imtiaz Ali. It is not at all filled with extravagant dance numbers or outfits (although there is one by the lead actress but it adds perfectly to the story) and has a simple direction throughout. Both the lead actors i.e Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda deliver strong performances. Randeep plays the role of a regular Indian Jat villager very well nailing the speech and emotions accurately while Alia perfectly captures the essence of a young Indian girl. This could be the breakthrough performance for her and I have always admired the kind of work Randeep picks for his acting choices. Imtiaz Ali is one of the finest directors of Indian cinema and I hope he gets his recognition. The other supporting cast (Randeep's character's friends) also deliver believable performances. The cinematography is excellent and the camera absorbs the Indian natural and cultural beauty. I loved it.
