This movie about the "ragtag bunch of misfits" is a complete departure for Marvel Cinematic Studios and they deliver an amazing spectacle of a movie. This is a just a good movie in general so for me, someone not knowing a thing about the Guardians comics (like me) should still love and enjoy this film. Marvel does think a lot about what they want to do and it certainly looks like they are making the right choices at the moment. Coming back to the movie itself, the movie cast is excellent. Dave Bautista also stars as Drax the Destroyer given he is very very new to acting but he delivers his lines perfectly. So do Rocket Racoon and Groot. All the five guardians share an amazing chemistry and play well off each other. I am definitely hooked on to feeling the movie's soundtrack. All that walkman music, I want to listen to them now. One negative I had about the movie was the introduction of Thanos which for him to be the ultimate villain, did not resonate as that much threatening but that could easily change in future movie. Also, the story/plot and the villain is not the strong point but the characters more than cover up for that. My overall opinion of the movie: "I AM GROOT"!!
Edit: After watching the movie a second time, I think I am changing my opinion about introduction of Thanos. He did look menacing and the way he handled Ronan's threat was a depiction of that.
