Boyhood Movie Review

This blog post may contain minor SPOILERS.

This is a movie I can honestly say is something I did not see ever in a long time. It is something very unique and takes film making to a completely different level, maybe not quality but in dimension. I loved the movie. I was blown away by the fact that it took 12 years to make this movie and that writer and director Richard Linklater had that patience and vision to realize this coming of age film over this long period of time. The actor who plays the "boy" from being a boy to a college teenager does a fantastic job. You see him grow over the 2 hours 25 minutes of the movie and I seriously could not have been bored if there was more time added to the film. All of the scenes in the movie from how a child (in this case, a boy) sees the world to a parent's uncomfortable talk with their offspring is so wonderful to watch. I feel everyone would relate to at least one of the life events in the movie. It was a nice theatrical touch on the writer's part as well (just so people know that this was also a movie) that the first and the last girl that the boy Mason Evans Jr. meets in the movie were both named Nichole. I also loved the songs in the movie especially "Hero" by Family of the Year which I know I am going to be listening a lot in the coming days.

Another information: I like how Harry Potter books were a part of the children growing up. :)

My Score: Awesome!
