Gone Girl Movie Review

Gone Girl is enthralling although I did get the feeling I have seen this kind of a movie before. I did not get too excited about the movie but it was a nice story. It was not really a thriller as I had hoped. ( SPOILERS NOW )The thrilling part ended in the middle of the movie for me when everyone came to know of the actual truth. After that, it was all about who wins the battle, the wife or the husband. If the novel itself is about that, I don't think I will be excited about it as well. I did not understand who "the two best guys" were that the lawyer kept talking about and how they were unable to find the girl or even the two people who made friends with her fake self.  Nevertheless, the movie was a one time watch for me. It is not something I would go again and again to see. The acting was superb. Ben Affleck did an amazing job and Rosamund Pike stole the movie for me. She was conniving and meticulous and her character portrayal of a deceiving person with a amusing justification of psychopathic behavior was entertaining to watch. I haven't read the book so I can't say much about the ending but I do know that the ending was changed. The music in the movie was good too as is the case with any David Fincher movie I have seen. I just saw the Rotten Tomatoes score for the movie and it was 86% critic rating of which I do not agree. I think I would give it about a 65-70%. The most telling disadvantage of the movie I felt was that it was a bit too long for me. Some moments did drag on a bit longer.
