Wild Movie Review

Wild is a movie inspired by a true story of author of the book by the same name, Cheryl Strayed. irectory Jean Marc Valee directed another inspiring movie of a true story after the Dallas Buyers Club. He seems to do a really good job of adapting real life stories to film and you could sense the same feel you got from the DBC movie. It's no surprise that Reese Witherspoon has been nominated for Best Actress category for this year's Oscars. This was her movie from start to finish. She was in frame all alone more often than not and she did the job wonderfully. It's not so surprising that even with some bad movies she has done in the past, she remains a very gifted actress. She potrays Cheryl Strayed who after the loss of her mother, finds herself pursuing a path of self destruction up until she decides to put an end to this by going a 1000 mile hike on a different path to self realization and inner peace. Laura Dern, who plays Cheryl's mother, also got nominated for Best Supporting Actress and although, she wasn't in the movie a whole lot for me to necessarily be on the nominees, she was excellent in the movie.
