Oscars 2015 Review

The Oscars 2015 were a little underwhelming for me. It started off with a bang with a trademark awesome Neil Patrick Harris musical with Anna Kendrick and Jack Black. But the momentum gained by that piece gradually faded away instead of building on it. I love Neil Patrick Harris as a host but he was not on his game tonight. However, there were moments during the whole show that were great from the speeches to the jokes to the songs. Lady Gaga's performance to commemorate the Sound of Music's 50th anniversary was awesome. I did not know she could sing this well live. I loved John Legend and Common's "Glory"-ous performance. I am sad that I still haven't seen Selma. I will do that soon.  The running gag of NPH's Oscar predictions did not work for me. All of the speeches were great. One of the more funny moments was Adele Dazeem and Glom Gazimbo's appearance. *wink*

It was good to see Eddie Redmayne win the Best Actor Oscar. That was my prediction too. However, all performances were great. And although, I might have picked Boyhood to be Best Picture, I am bot bashing my head at Birdman winning the award. It was also a great experimental movie in itself with single shot camera work, to acting to cinematography. Patricia Arquette was a deserving winner as well and so was her speech.

To end, my choice for next year's Oscar host would be Tina Fey/Amy Poehler or Kevin Spacey.
