Man I really hate J.K Simmons. Well, I meant his character in this movie. J.K Simmons is awesome. And so is Miles Teller in this movie. Whiplash stars Miles Teller as Andrew, a jazz drummer who wants to become a great and earn the respect of a tough and almost-evil teacher and conductor, played by J.K who believes in abusing and berating his students to get the best out of crop. I stopped at almost-evil because the film ends in positive note with Miles's character finally earning his teacher's praise but I would still not like anyone to have a teacher like Terrence Fletcher. Though jazz might seem to be fading these days, the movie never bores and the music builds up the story. The sound editing and mixing is awesome. It is no wonder that the film got the Oscar nominations for Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor (for J.K. Simmons) and Best Adapted Screenplay.Man I really hate J.K Simmons.
