This movie is a small indie film that did not get a wide release so I felt I can shed a small light onto it. The theme for this movie is the same vein as Angelina Jolie directed Unbroken and also stars the same lead Jack O'Connell. This however, edges that film in direction. Yann Demange shines in his directorial debut with an excellently told story and struggles of a young soldier who gets caught alone amidst the political violence and tension in Northern Ireland. I love such type of movies as they inform me about different eras in the history of the world. All of Yann's previous work was on TV so to come out with a film like this on debut is applaudable. Some liberties were obviously taken and they make the movie more gripping action thriller. I think it would border between Inglorious Bastards and Unbroken in terms of story. Jack's acting of physical, and emotional pain of a distraught soldier was great and executed with commendable simplicity.
If you love your war history, you should check this movie out.
