Avengers: Age Of Ultron Movie Review (with Spoilers)

The second installment of the Avengers starts with action and is action almost throughout the movie. In this one, the mighty Avengers have to fight Ultron, a menacing AI voiced by James Spader, created for the well being of humans by Tony Stark but ironically who wishes to obliterate Earth for it to "evolve".  And we are introduced to three new characters in the movie. The Maximoff twins a.k.a Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch do the bidding of Ultron at first as their parents were killed by one of Stark's weapons. The movie never clearly explains how they get their powers (just the mention that they were experimented on by Baron Von Strucker). And, ofcourse, being in a Marvel movie, they can't use the word mutants nor are they called Inhumans in the movie.  Personally, I do not think they needed to be introduced in Marvel Universe but Scarlet Witch did serve the purpose of a good story in messing up with the Avenger's minds and trying to destroy them by Divide and Rule. We saw the death of our first Avenger in Quicksilver and he was just introduced for this movie alone. I do confess I had a feeling he would die. The other new character introduced was Vision created partly by Ultron and completed by Thor, and I liked him. Paul Bettany returns in this one in a physical form as part human part robot. And, surprise surprise, he is the one able to lift Thor's hammer. It could be because of the infinity gems he has in his forehead or simply because he was technically created by Thor or just that he is worthy enough. But him lifting Thor's hammer nonchalantly was a fun moment in the movie along with Captain America almost lifting it. As with all Marvel movies, the fun element remains in this one too although not as smooth as the first one for me.  But, the fight between Hulkbuster and Hulk was totally worth it. We see glimpses of what is coming for our heroes throughout the film and in the mid credit scene. Yes, it's Thanos; and it was good to see Avengers finally figuring out that someone is puppeteering them and this whole thing from the start.  I did not like the brewing love story between Black Widow and the Hulk especially considering that Betty Ross is still alive and well in this Marvel Cinematic Universe. But, it was a relief to see it end towards the end of the movie with Hulk going away somewhere along with Iron Man (maybe to West Coast *wink wink*), Thor (in search of infinity gems and Thanos maybe) and Hawkeye who returned back to his family which reminds me that Hawkeye did get more story arc in the film with him having an actual family to take care of but their appearance did feel a very sudden introduction as did the creation of Ultron. I did not quite like that this great villain was created within the space of one movie and felt a bit rushed when in the first one, the villain Loki evolved in 2-3 movies. What was left in the end was a new look Avengers team comprising of Captain America, War Machine (yes he made an appearance too),  Scarlet Witch, Vision, and Black Widow. Let's see what the future holds. I am pretty sure I missed a few dialogues in the middle so I might have to watch the movie again and I will not mind it. :)

Overall Review: Fun movie to watch and do watch in theaters.
