I never wanted to see this movie from the trailers I saw and for the subject matter. I did not consider myself the target audience. I watched it because of the good ratings it had received and because I like Kenneth Branagh ever since he portrayed that self-absorbed foolish professor Gilderoy Lockhart. And my first thought: a good movie is a good movie. I liked the direction in this movie by Mr Branagh and I loved Lily James, who plays Cinderella. Kenneth's movies have excellent colors and wide spanning and beautiful world. I witnessed this in the first Thor and I saw it here too. I think this movie would be worth watching in IMAX just for the sets alone. The cinematography is amazing and I loved the music as well. This film is well acted on the whole. I think in these kind of movies especially you might have danger of everything being over the top but all things were in place. Richard Madden, who plays the prince, and Cate Blanchett (as usual) were great as well. I even liked the performance of the twin sisters for what they were. The negatives for me was that I cannot stop going logically on these movies sometimes. I was wondering at some points as to why the glass slippers did not return back to normal when the magic wore off for everything else. I know; suspension of disbelief. The movie's charm does deserve it anyways. Best Disney live action movie in my opinion.
This is a movie people might unexpectedly like. Just so :)
