Moon Movie Review

This was a movie released in 2009 but I was recommended this movie by a friend so I gave it a go. And this is an excellent movie. It felt like Ex-Machina with a tinge of Cast Away. Although my friend promoted this movie as a sci-fi, it is a suspense sci-fi drama. Sam Rockwell plays the main character and he is amazing. I first saw him in Seven Psychopaths and have since loved his every performance. The story is set in a futuristic world where mankind has identified Moon as a vast alternative fuel (Helium-3) resource and Sam Bell, played by Sam Rockwell, is sent to Moon on a 3 year contract to deliver this fuel back to Earth. The movie shows Sam's struggling with his loneliness and juggles with his different emotions. By the middle of the movie, Sam realizes (With the help of GERTY, voiced by Kevin Spacey) that he is himself a clone of the original Sam and realizes the unethical practices that the company planning all these missions, Lunar Industries, is involved in. With the help of his other clone, Sam hatches a plan to get back to Earth and exposes the company. Sam Rockwell is absolutely believable and does an amazing job of portraying two different clones with different traits.
