Ant Man is a good film and I enjoyed it a lot. It is not the best Marvel film in my opinion but I never thought this particular super hero would be watchable on the big screen so I give Marvel praise for this attempt. The special effects are amazing with how they managed to shrink the hero to ant size and it not being a burden on the eye. The movie is a heist comedy and it does not shy away from it. Michael Pena is just amazing and probably steals the show. I did not get a lot from Paul Rudd but he was still ok and more importantly fun to watch on screen. Somehow, I do not buy him as a superhero but perhaps that is why Ant Man is a perfect role for him. (Ant Man being not really a superhero kind of superhero). Michael Douglas was great as is expected from him. I liked director Peyton Reed's action shots when the hero and villain are shrunk down. The way they utilized the environment around for these scenes was great to watch. This movie went through so much trouble before filming with director replacement and writing that for it to come out with such output was commendable. I do have one question. How is Siri able to hear Scott when he is so small? Also I would have liked it more if a particular crawling reference was unbeknownst to us before the movie so it was more of a surprise. Coming to some negatives, I did not like the first mid credits scene. If you watched the movie, that scene would not have come as a huge surprise to audience, at least not to me. On the other hand, I absolutely love the end credits scene. (So yes people, remember to stay right till the end if you are interested in these scenes). Another negative was the villain which wasn't too intimidating as is usually the case with most Marvel movies. One other think I want to say is when people complain about how DC movies are so dark with so many people dying and its heroes. Marvel does the same guys, just they do it with a joke and laughter is the best medicine :) *thinks to himself* "Must not go into that debate!"Overall Rating: Should watch it. You will have a laugh (in a good way).
