San Andreas Movie Review

I feel for California. San Andreas is like a roller coaster ride with minor still moments that are there to build up the story. I can tell, it fails in both of them in comparison to the Mission Impossible or Fast and Furious (latest) movies as the "still" moments are not enough to give meaning to a plot that is lose from the start. I do think however, that this movie was never going for the plot or character development even with quite a good cast. Having said that, the action in the film is amazing and looks good even in my computer screen and takes some focus away from the lack of plot. I will regret missing out on this movie on the big screen.

The Rock has improved so much from when I first saw him in a movie (Scorpion King) which was bad. I still think his "tear-delivery" can improve but otherwise I like to watch whatever movie he is in these days.  He knows his limitations and works within it and tries to gradually expand on those. I even had a bit of fun watching Hercules because of him. Alexandra Daddario looks stunning and so does Carla Gugino but the movie is about the Rock which might be a bit of negative for me as both the actresses did great in the short action time they had on screen. I also did not like the ending when the Rock says"We rebuild" which sounded a bit cheesy and was said with such intensity it appeared as though they were preparing for a sequel and another big battle is on the way.

The special effects are awesome in the film and you should definitely check it out the big screen. This is like the movie 2012 but the destruction is not on such a wide scale so you can actually collect yourself and enjoy the movie for what it is. 2012 in my opinion tried to do too much. Oh, and definitely eat popcorn (or some snacks). It will taste a lot better.
