Maze Runner Scorch Trials Review

The first Maze Runner movie was a pleasant surprise that I did not see coming. The second one turns that surprise into a bad movie. I do think you would be ok to watch it on your smaller screen to pass time. Dylan O'Brien continues the story arc of Thomas who is continuing on his search for his past and future and does it very well. The story leaves so much on the balance and anticipation in the past two movies yet I have not gotten bored of the wait and instead this has kept me hooked and that is the only positive I have to say. There are so many obvious failures in the movie. First, I do not like Thomas always seemingly being the last one to "run" from a dangerous situation. It was good at first but grows to become a little too obvious. Also, I almost hated the pretty audible and loud panting of some of the other characters especially Brenda's. It felt like she was trying too hard without the actual running. Kaya Scodelario does a good job in the movie as well but her turn to naivety filled evil bothered me a bit. I have never read the books so excuse me here. I also hated the big bad Patricia Clarkson as Ava but I will give it a pass since being hated is one the points for a villain to exist.

Overall Review: Watch this one if you like. Nothing else.
