Goosebumps Movie Review

I used to watch the Goosebumps TV show long time back and remember liking it. They were not a huge part of my childhood so there was no nostalgia associated with the movie. Having said that, I enjoyed this version. The story might remind you of Jumanji which is not a bad thing however, I would have liked the cinematography and colors used in the Robin Williams movie. Jack Black does a good job as the author R.L Stine who has the task of recapturing all his created monsters after they are freed by his new neighbor, a young boy (Zach) played by Dylan Minnette who falls for his daughter (Hannah) played by Odeya Rush. I liked Ryan Lee the most in the movie who was hilarious.

This a fun movie for the whole family. Director Rob Letterman does these types of movies a lot having previously done Gulliver's Travels, Monsters vs Aliens but this movie is the best one out of all those in my opinion (still on ok level). I think Dylan and Odeya have a great future ahead of him. The negatives for me were the extreme abundance of monsters and a not so solid plan to capture all of them towards the end of the film.

Some extra news for Goosebumps fans, I just read that the sequel is in the works due release in summer 2017. So, get excited for it guys :)
