Ryan Reynolds shines in the role of cancer patient Wade Wilson who is transformed into this disfigured mutant by the antagonist Ajax (played by Ed Skrein) as he tries to do right by his girlfriend Vanessa (Morena Baccarin). This is director's Tim Miller' first film and he directs the hell out of it. What a wonderful start to his career. He must be a Deadpool fan by the way this movie turned out and so is Ryan Reynolds and their work (for 6 years) made it all happen. A special mention must be given to Colossus who was surprisingly a great addition to the movie. The meta-ness that Deadpool lives in just enhances the movie watching experience. The R rating is never a hindrance and works seamlessly for this particular movie. I believe for this movie (more than any other) the creator deserves special mention as Deadpool's characteristics make him a logically intriguing character. I also appreciate the work done by the real heroes who were the writers. You go people!
The things I did not like about the movie was the CGI in some parts and I do not blame anyone for it. This was a shot in the dark that Fox (had to) make which landed accurately. The non-inclusion of other X-Men did seem weird but Deadpool's meta-thing saves this along with many other things. Also, some of the jokes can get a little too cringeworthy. Towards the end, it did
seem like a typical superhero movie. But all these are tiny complaints compared to the great fun I had while watching it.
Oh, and the beginning and post credits are one of the best I have ever seen. See you soon Cable!
Have some chimichangas and watch Deadpool guys!
