Joel Edgerton makes his directorial debut in this psychological thriller and it is excellent. He also wrote the movie and you could see the clever and subversive story he tells that should leave you on the edge of your seats and second guessing.Joel Edgerton plays an awkward man, Gordo with a traumatizing past who tries to get back on Simon (Jason Bateman) for ruining his life as a kid. The movie is simple yet complex and entertaining to watch through good acting by everyone including Rebecca Hall who plays Simon's wife. I cannot imagine the difficulty of writing, directing and acting in a film and Joel deserves huge credit. The ending made me a little dissatisfied but then considering the tone and story of the movie it felt right. Words can have such big impact.
I would not qualify this on the same scale as Prisoners or Nightcrawler which is one of the best psychological thriller I have seen but it is still worth watching little movie.
