Keanu has a ridiculous storyline but it manages to be so entertaining both because of Key & Peele and the cute kitten. I have never watched Key-Peele sketches thoroughly but I always enjoy whatever I see, Substitute Teacher and Liam Neesons being some of the best. So, it was no surprise you get references to those easter eggs in the movie.
The story is about Key & Peele trying to rescue a kitten named Keanu from the clutches of some very dangerous gangster rivals who are at loggerheads with each other. As it happens, they happen to put themselves in this position where they have to go all gangster and involved in gunfights and yes, also take hilarious street names.
The plot does not quite flow smoothly with breaks happening between different captures and rescues of Keanu and many other places but this is still a very enjoyable movie with most laughs happening in the first hour and a half which I where I think the running time of this film should have been. The chemistry between Key and Peele kept me hooked even if some of the moments did not land as intended. Basically, this was a movie combining all of their sketches into one. And oh my god, that kitten is cute. How can you not like that? And the kitten's stunt work and the action, in general, is very well choreographed.
Overall, I had a fun time watching this film. Go see it!
