Finding Dory Review

Is it even possible for Pixar/Disney to mess up their movies. I have trouble remembering one that I hated or not enjoyed. Perhaps, Cars 2 but otherwise they have been perfect.

To start, I haven't yet seen Finding Nemo and I deeply convey my apologies for that. But Finding Dory does well to stand alone on its own and is a fun, funny movie that will also make you cry both with joy and sadness. Those two emotions from Inside Out stood out the most in the movie and isn't it amazing that those two played a major role in Inside Out as well.

Andrew Stanton, who is also the co-director with Angus MacLane, and Victoria Strouse do an amazing job to write a charming story about Dory who gets lost as a baby and embarks on a beautiful journey to find her parents and most of all, herself. You are inspired to never give up. "What would Dory do?" and "Just keep swimming" is the mantra to go with. And hence the title, Finding Dory. You might feel the story follows the same route as any great inspirational movie you might have seen but there is something about Pixar and the people working there. They have a way to do it amazingly well without banging you over your head and constantly pull your heart string. Oh and talking about Baby Dory, man she is cute. She might be one of the two cutest babies I have seen in animated movies alongside Agnes from Despicable Me.

Ellen DeGeneres voice and personality fits perfectly with Dory and her interactions with almost every other character is perfect. I personally liked Dory, Destiny (Kaitlin Olson) and Bailey (Ty Burrell) interactions the best along with the two hilarious sea lions, Fluke (Idris Elba) and Rudder (Dominic West). Idris has this ability to use his voice in both fearsome (The Jungle Book) and hilarious ways like in this one. Thomas Newman's music also goes very well with the movie and never feels out of place.

Honestly guys, I have nothing negative to say about this film. Just go and have fun!

Ok let me start by saying.. What was I saying...uhhh.. hmmm.. sand. I like sand.
