Independence Day:Resurgence Review

Ready... Set... Here we go.
This is the worst movie I have ever seen in the theaters and I congratulate it for making it up there. We decided to watch the movie on the spontaneous as we couldn't book our golf round which I was really excited about.

First of all, I know it's easy to say this now but there was definitely no need to make a sequel to a movie that is loved by so many people for its sheer entertainment value. This one tried too hard to replicate that. Almost every beat/scene felt repeated even if they tried hard to change the circumstances surrounding a scene. The acting was terrible all aboard and dialogues were not even hilariously bad and will not stay with you like the ones from original. I imagine the US President too gave up on his speech making ability after looking at what he was working with.  The story had so many endings and stop start moments that I gave up half way on following where it was going because it wasn't going anywhere. The special effects too did not work and merge as well and I could see the CGI being the movie which is usually not a good thing. I don't like to trash movies because I do know how many people work on it especially on these big budget movies. This is why, I did feel guilty about the note after the credits saying that more than 12000 people got jobs through this film. That might be the only positive coming from this film. It's strange how all of us ended up staying for the end credits. Perhaps, our brains were struggling to align back correctly with our bodies. Even Jeff Goldblum, who I have loved in so many movies, was not up for this one or at least that's what it looked like on the big screen. While I am at it, let me just put in the name of the director Roland Emmerich into the mix who along with the studio and the writers are the major culprits for this abomination.

Again, I am sorry guys but I had to get this out of my mind. Let me think hard about any positives for the movie now. Oh I remember, Bill Pullman does not appear to have aged a lot in the last 20 years. Good for him.

I feel like I have to say more so for this kind of a movie. You should watch it for yourself and form your own opinion. Personally, this isn't worth it.
