Swiss Army Man Movie Review

Oh this movie was so much funny and sad and all the complex human emotions and yet such fun. Swiss Army Man is second movie this year after Eddie The Eagle that had me smiling after leaving the theater. You know a movie is good when it makes you think and both me and my friend were involved in discussions after watching about life and we probably will be continuing these talks for a little while.
The story could be confusing for some people who are looking for logic alone but this movie goes well beyond logic to try to make obvious sense of logical things in life like the farts, poops, boners and what not. Paul Dano wonderfully plays Hank, a man who at the start has run away to and contemplates suicide as a result of a life he considers to be lonely but as he is about to hang himself to death, he finds a dead body of Manny, again wonderfully acted by Daniel Radcliffe. With time, as Hank teaches Manny about love, friendship and the human way, he realizes it's actually him who learns all of that from Manny.

The writers and directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert did an amazing job with telling the story consisting for such weird situations and making it feel very much normal. It could easily have been an unwatchable movie without their direction and writing along with some great cinematography by Larkin Seiple. The music by Andy Hull and Robert McDowell too feels a part of the movie and the story. The special effects in the movie also hold their own for a small budget movie like this one. I can honestly say I am so glad to have watched a movie that I have never seen before. Truly unique.

I very much know that this movie will not appeal to everyone but it did to me and I am happy about it.
