The Nice Guys Review

This is where critic reviews can help you a lot. I would have missed this movie if not for the positive buzz generated by the professional reviewers on the internet. It is indeed a shame that not many people saw this film.

The Nice Guys is a crime drama/comedy and a origin story about formation of an amazingly entertaining team of private eye Holland March (Ryan Gosling) and enforcer Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe) and in front of the screen their chemistry is a delight to watch. The plot is set in the 70s where a down and low Holland March is hired by the aunt of a porn star Misty Mountains as she claims to have seen her niece alive. Holland figures out that a girl named Amelia (Margaret Qualley) might have been involved and in an attempt to find her, meets Jackson who is hired by Amelia to ward off Holland. Thereafter, the movie goes on a wild ride that I enjoyed to the maximum. Russell and Ryan are also joined by the Holland's daughter Holly played by the terrific Angourie Rice. This film has definitely put her on the map.

Shane Black's directing style is imprinted on this movie and it fits in perfectly with a sound script once again written by Shane and Anthony Bagarozzi and great chemistry between the actors. Philippe Rousselot's cinematography showing the LA landscape of the old is beautiful. Honestly guys, I do not think I have anything negative to say about the film. Just go watch it.

Overall Rating: Must Watch (I am that person who can't give a 10 even if I loved the movie so no rating from me :p
