The Accountant is a another very different movie from the other 2016 films that I have seen. This one is about a man, Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) whose autism spectrum and army training from a very young age makes him a genius at math and combat. He uses these to settle the accounts of some of the most criminal organizations around the world. One of such assignments takes the majority of the film's plot with people coming after Christian for being a little too good at his job. On the hindsight, some the plot lines for a movie with a genius level character like Christian do seem simplified but other than that, I really enjoyed this movie.Gavin O'Connor shot this film in a unique manner with uneven but very engaging story telling. I liked that it asked me to pay attention throughout the movie and also managed to do the same. Ben's performance is subtly amazing and perhaps the best of 2016 and I include his performance as Batman. Funnily enough, I thought this movie had some elements which I thought could be a part of the upcoming stand alone Batman film. Perhaps this was a try out :). J.K Simmons and Jon Bernthal were the other standout actors. The action scenes were very well choreographed and combined well with the dull (and I am not saying this word in a negative sense) moments in the movie.
