That released this year
And were good enough
To receive the Academy's cheer
The ridge of Hacksaw, brilliantly directed
showed the true story of faith above any fight
Although, the war did take away
some of the main character's amazing spotlight
Manchester by the Sea was the saddest
And is my least favorite
Casey's heart wrenching performance
was sure the best of it
The story of two brothers
Amidst harsh adversities, choosing a path of crime
Dialogues to engage, Foster robbed of recognition
Although to be my cup of tea, not as fine
Next comes Arrival
Teaching the importance of communication
And violence not being the only solution
Amy Adams sure deserved a nomination
La La Land had us singing the tunes
Of the ones who dream
Foolish as it may seem
Here's to the hearts that ache
Here's to the mess we make
The best was Hidden Figures
Inspiring story of the women
Who help put man in space
The dream, the final frontier, amen
Moonlight, Fences and Lion remain
Unfortunately I haven't seen
And so in my limited view
Hidden Figures is winner i deem
