Baby Driver Movie Review

Finally saw this movie and it didn't disappoint. Baby Driver is a crime action (somewhat musical?) film directed by Edgar Wright and starring Ansel Elgort (Baby) as the get away driver for Doc (Kevin Spacey) who falls for the cafe waitress Debora (Lily James) and then the rest of story is him trying to get away from his life of crime by getting a helping hand from his ability with cars and music.
The best part of the movie for me was the choreography which involved the action scenes to be in perfect sync with the music playing on Baby's iPod and at times were integrated into the music with bullet shots taking place of the drum beats. Lily and Ansel's chemistry was also innocent and beautiful to watch on screen. I liked Jon Hamm's performance the best out of the all the supporting cast which doesn't mean the others (Eiza Gonzalez, Jamie Foxx etc) were bad. I loved that the ending didn't go into Baby driving off into the distance with Debora with no punishment for his actions in the previous job. There remained some sense of realism throughout the movie.

The negatives for me were Kevin Spacey's character development which was very uneven. Sometimes, his motivations were good and sometimes I hated him. Perhaps, that was the intention for his character. I also would liked to have seen more of Jon Bernthal who is barely in the movie.
