Justice League Review

This movie has definitely made me realize how subjective movie watching can be. While some of the reviews I read on Rotten Tomatoes I agree with, I still like the film enough to put my negatives aside.

Justice League is a team of the DCEU characters introduced in past films including some new ones (Cyborg and Flash) who are recruited by Batman to fight a bigger and darker threat, Steppenwolf, who plans to conquer Earth by uniting the three motherboxes which are in possession of the Atlantians, Amazons and humans (particularly Cyborg).

First of all, I must say I didn’t have a problem with the "mustache". The humor wasn’t forced and worked for the most part. Ezra Miller and Gal Gadot were the best and all the other characters played their part well. I wasn't expecting much of Cyborg but he Ray Fisher did a good job with him. Connie Nielsen was amazing for the short period she was in movie. I would have loved to have her interact with Diana again. Honestly, I appreciate the way Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon's direction came together for this movie with all the unfortunate circumstances that happened in this movie's production.

There wasn't a great and memorable "Justice League" moment which I remember and the flew at a very fast rate which allowed for less development of characters which were so interesting whenever they had their moments. I wanted to spend a lot more time with them before the big action set-piece that followed these scenes. The biggest negative however for me was the villain who was very weak in his motives and the CGI for Steppenwolf added to my disappointment. The other big negative was the soundtrack which didn't have the oomph factor for me. The solid momentum that was built with Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL's bombastic themes were somewhat lost in this movie. I admire Danny Elfman but his music somehow didn't fit in this one. I loved Superman's all happy and positive attitude but that felt a bit rushed in the movie as well and perhaps a slow build up to that Superman would have peaked my interest. I also felt at some points he was made a little bit too powerful than almost all the others. This was a minor negative for me.

Overall, I managed to have fun watching this movie.
