This is one of those movies where the story and the mystery in it did not really keep me engrossed enough to care which was a shame because I like everyone in with the movie. Kenneth Branagh is one of my favorites ever since I first saw him as Gilderoy Lockhart and I love Harry Potter! He is an excellent actor and director. It's just that this film did not quite work for me. There were some camera shots that spanned the train compartments in a single motion which gave me headaches at some point. Other than that, I loved the overall shots and cinematography of the train and its passage through the snowy mountains. There was a shot which was also shown in the trailers where the camera pans to the each of the suspects on the murder which I loved. Credit to both the Kenneth and cinematographer Haris Zambarloukos.
I did not hate any of the acting performances but the lack of interest in the story itself made me less interested in the story bearers as well. I think my main issue was there was not really a mystery to the mystery and I haven't read the book so it could be that the film did not do a good job of it.
