Deadpool 2

I have had a few days since I saw the movie to write this review and my opinion has slightly changed. The second installment of the Merc with the mouth doesn't quite hold up to the first one as much I would have hoped. This film doesn't ignore the story or the heart which the first one had but as is usually the case with a sequel to a immensely successful movie focuses more on other aspects like action. It does not fail at that and there are some amazing scenes and comedic moments throughout but you still get the feeling of something missing.

Ryan Reynolds is amazing as Deadpool and doesn't disappoint with his acting. They got a new director this time around with David Leitch (of John Wick fame) and you could see his style in some of the action sequences. The new addition to Deadpool's team, Domino is played excellently by Zazie Beetz. She was electric and funny and complemented Deadpool very well. She was the Negasonic Teenage Warhead of this film. They made his superpower which sounds ridiculous to hear look great and she does a great job I wasn't a big fan of the mutant kid played by Julian Denninson. I understood his story and struggle in the film but it didn't click with me for some reason. Josh Brolin's Cable was good but I would have liked to hear more from him. Morena Baccarin and Ryan Reynold's chemistry is one of the main reasons again to watch this movie although it doesn't last long as there is a bigger story to focus on. I was caught by surprise as to how they handled the X-Force but was ultimately pleased with it.

The film is funny and filled with cameos some of which you will miss the first time.
