Ant Man and the Wasp Review

Let's try a new slightly robotic way of writing

Negatives

Not all comedic scenes landed, some were a little too much and it looked like they were trying too hard. Ant Man still felt a little separated from the other Marvel Universe in its own tiny (pun not intended) world until the post credits scene. The villain played by Walton Goggins was a little too light hearted for my taste. I am used to him being a lot more menacing than he was in this movie.  Some of the dramatic scenes towards the end felt awkward with only one party showing most of the emotions and they also felt rushed.

Positives

Lots of fun. Paul Rudd brought his innocent humor as he did in the first film and Evangeline Lilly played the dramatic scenes very well and her and Paul Rudd played Wasp and the Ant Man pretty well. Hannah John-Kamen as the Ghost was also good but her story arc was resolved a little too quickly after all the killing that she did. The special effects were excellent and more involved than the first installment. The placement of this movie after the Infinity War didn't affect me as much as I thought it would. I actually thought their tie up to Infinity War at the end was pretty good.

Rating: 7/10
