This movie just starts with the right note. The tribute to Stan Lee in the intro was very good. Brie Larson as Carol Danvers was great portraying the power and strength that comes with the character excellently. Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull leader Talos was the best apart from Brie in my opinion. He plays the humor of the character well. The chemistry between Brie and Samuel L. Jackson was great and I bought into their friendship.
The origin story, however, felt rushed to me and could have been fleshed out more than just short flashbacks that felt rushed. There are other movies that have done similar style of story telling but still take more time with the flashbacks by having more interactions between characters. I would have liked that. I also wanted to more of Phil Coulson but I can appreciate the movie focusing all its energy on Carol. This is after all one the strongest superhero in the MCU.
The final action sequence with Carol in her full energy avatar flying around destroying attacking ships head on was awesome.
Rating: 7/10
